Judicial Education

Increasing workload and application of complex laws have increased the demand and need for continuing judicial education and training of all those stakeholders who are involved in the administration of justice. Judicial education and training is an essential element of judicial independence, as it helps to ensure the competency of the judiciary. In an age that requires greater judicial independence and understanding to resolve the increasingly complex and sensitive issues which are brought before courts, the need for judicial education cannot be overemphasized. In addition, the value of judicial education can be related to specific outcomes, such as better managed and less costly litigation, as well as greater public confidence in the judiciary.

The International Judicial Conference 2012 will provide a forum for the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad and similar Academies/ Institutions around the world to create a relationship which would be mutually enriching and interactive; it would also provide an opportunity to national as well as international academies who maintain a sustained interest in Pakistani law, to meet each other and develop collaborative relationships; and to promote greater interaction and exchange of ideas between the judiciary and the legal academia.
